This is a section of of land on the eastern edge of the Canadian Shield of mixed conifer and deciduous forest.
The project is an homage to the flora, fauna and back woods past in a small portion of Lanark County, Ontario.

I’ll have to begin by writing. I’m not sure if anyone will actually read this however this place is now a part of me in the intense volume of sheer effort to restore the old shack into something livable. The vernacular today is “off grid”. However I believe this is a misnomer. There is no such thing as off grid because we are social creatures at our core. Over th years I believe our connection to our natural environment and each other is hard wired in the brain and we need to be a part of the grid or systems of exchange. A diet is that of what the forest creature dine on wouldn’t be enjoyable. I like my grocery store fair which leads me to one issue with this cabin not connected to the hydro grid. Refrigeration.
I’m writing this as I prepare and pack food for the weekend.
